Canberra Crew!

DISECT

Disect is one of Canberra's more experienced and much-loved psy-trance artists. He has been playing the psychedelic sound since about 2003, and has played at all the major local festivals around Canberra, such as MotherNature 1 and 2, Galactic Centre, Liquid Sun and Emergent Properties. He has also rocked many a club gig (such as Luke Psywalker 2006, Brain Bokka 2007, UniDiversity and Cut-Sik just to mention a few) as well as Earthcore in Victoria in 2006. Now, he is starting to establish himself as a live artist, and has been producing and performing with Abelton Live and Reason, as well as utilising FX in his sets. His live sound is minimal and funky, with cool samples. His DJ sound is darker, harder and more powerful, possessing a distinct edge. Disect is looking forward to playing both a live set and DJ set at Isotopia Eclipse Festival 2008. Bring it!

You can listen to some of Disect's tracks on his website:

www.myspace.com/disectbeats

Aneurysm
Aneurysm is a former hard-trance artist who has shifted across to the psychedelic sound over the last two years. All involved in the Canberra crew are very pleased that he did! Aneurysm plays a hard, twisted and percussive style of psy-trance with lots of electric guitar influences, suitable for the later stages of the night. Whilst his sound is hard, he can play both hard and intelligent sounding music, which is a sign of maturity for a hard artist. His programming is good and his mixing very tight. In addition, he has also been working hard on production, and he is starting to mix some of his own tracks into his DJ sets.

You can listen to some of Aneurysm's tracks on his website:

Stoj
Stoj is an established DJ in the Canberra region. Stoj is a full-on psy-trance artist, who plays the powerful synapse-splitting Israeli trance style, guaranteed to unleash dancefloor destruction. Stoj's sound has both melodic and uplifting elements in it, as well as huge buildups and emotional breakdowns. Stoj has been spinning records since 2003, and often side by side with partner in crime Disect, has rocked many a party, and could be considered a local favourite. Similar to his mate, Stoj has also played at all the major Canberra festivals and club gigs and also at Earthcore 2006. Stoj has tight mixing and is someone who always steps up for a big performance.

Triskele (DJ set)

Triskele is a female DJ hailing from Canberra. Her sound could be described as ambient/progressive, with a strong sub-continental influence. Her music is best suited for the day time - smooth, beautiful, uplifting and relaxing melodies with a strong spiritual component. Odette recently performed a good set at Cut-Sik.

Stefan Stonker
Stefan Stonker is a new DJ to Canberra, originally hailing from the UK, he has played at a number of indoor and outdoor festivals over there. He describes his sound as techno, ranging from tech-house through minimal all the way up to hard techno. He plays artists like Thomas Schumaker, and his sound has quite a strong tribal influence.

Incongruous
Incongruous has been DJing since 2002, but originally started off playing piano at the age of 7 or 8. From there, his interests turned to percussion. He got into dance music in a big way when he came back from the UK in 2001 and bought decks in 2002 and has been DJing ever since. His sound could be described as emotional, hypnotic and uplifting progressive and psychedelic trance, best suited to the mid-morning hours once the sun has come up.

Adelaide Crew!

Ant-Friend
Ant Friend has been organising parties and DJing for the last four years, as a part of the Astral Lotus crew, and more recently as part of the Circutree collective. Ben has long been interested in ‘psychedelic’ music, being inspired by artists such the Secret Chiefs 3, Mouse on Mars and Autechre before discovering psytrance in 2004, which immediately made an impression. “We were putting on parties and playing psytrance before we had even heard of ‘doofs, and then a friend said that if we like this music we should go to this festival called Rainbow Serpent where apparently they play psy!” RSF was a life-changing event- “We couldn’t believe that we had found this place where all the coolest people we’d ever met danced day and night to the best music we’d ever heard- since then I think we’ve just been trying to recapture that vibe, that feeling."
Music-wise Ant Friend’s taste is very eclectic, from dark twisted nighttime madness to trippy morning funk, as well as proggressive and goa. “I just aim to get people moving- if they’re dancing, then I’m happy”

Psilonaut
"Psilonaut is an audiotry manifestation of the spontaneous realms of our hyperconsciousness. Teetering on the edge of the absurd it is not restricted to any specific genre or sound, instead it makes use of a wide range of sonic expression to push psychedelic beats into new terroritory. From repetition to chaos and everything outside of that, it continues the self perpetuating wave of creativity that has and always will spark imagination."

Nuf-Z
Nuf Z is originally from Sydney and currently lives in Adelaide, he first started going to raves in 2000. Then while living in Melbourne he discovered psychedelic trance in a club and was keen to hear more! He went to his first outdoor trance party (bush doof) in 2004 and loved the combination of this electronic sound and the beautiful open surroundings. Since then he spent a year living in Cairns attending lots of festivals in 2005, then eventually moving to Adelaide in 2006 and started djing and helping out with putting on parties with Astral Lotus crew. The music James currently enjoys playing and listening to is minimal, progressive, tribal-house and electro.

We cant wait for a set of highly danceable and uplifting tunes that will throw your mind to the boundaries of reality.

Colinisation (aka Kosmic Kol)
Colinisation has been rockin dancefloors from Koh Pah Ngang to Darwin and beyond since the mid 1990s. His driving sounds of global psy trance will get everyone on their feet and pounding the dancefloor.

Krokodoofilus
Krokodoofilus went to his first party on Koh Pah Ngang in 1992 and was never the same again. The mutations started as he participated in just about every party and festival on the NNSW scene during the 1990s and early 2000's. In 2000 and 2001 he went on epic desert party missions with the EarthDream convoys and discovered the Top End which soon became one of his homes. After years on the dancefloor, listening to many a self obsessed, over rated DJs, he realised that he often had better music in his car and so the mutation continued. His DJ career has been puctuated by DJ mutations into Infidelic, Crocodelic, TrashBag vs MessyHead & Acidoofilus. In 2006 he created the Isotopia Festival in response to increased uranium mining around Darwin.
